I love all of Shuns products and probably have every Shun Classic knife there is...and almost all of them have a place in this case, and it still closes no problem. If you need a more secure case than the roll bags than this is the case for you, the Shun case is also longer than the roll cases.
There is howevewr two Shun cases with the same sale number, and they are the same price also. I will tell you from experience you will want to stay away from the velvet one, I had that one first and believe me it picks up everything. Also watch out for the security strap that holds the knives in place, if you dont put a sleeve on the knives they will surely cut through it.
UPDATE.....
Had to move on :( I outgrew the Shun Case, I couldn't fit my accessories or more than a few knives because some pockets are small and cant fit most Shun Knives...go figure lol
The Ultimate Case is a good upgrade with ought being much larger in size. So look at my other reviews and you'll find it, its pink but they have a lot of colors.
Description of Shun Professional Chef's Knife Case
The Shun Professional Chef's Knife case features 17 slots for all of your favorite knives. The exterior is a combination of durable fabric and leatherette treatments. When fully opened this case measures a whopping 20" x 36". For smaller knives there is a large flap which is secured with a velcro to cover and protest these knives and also ensure that they stay put. This large flap also includes a zippered mesh envelope which you can use to store other accessory items. (This is like a bonus room for more stuff). To ensure that your Shun knives are protected this case features a very heavy duty end flap that when the case is closed will make sure that your knives stay put, period. This case folds shut into a compact space and features a center handle, 2 heavy duty nylong straps with secure snap closures, and a shoulder strap to make transport easier.
